“Stop Family Violence” Broadcast on DCTV and Radio One

CLR Community Empowerment Inc. will debut our new show on “Stop Family Violence” on DCTV to be aired during the month of October 2013. The show will air on the nation's community television network Verizon FiOS Channels 10, 11 and 28; Comcast Channels 95 and 96; and RCN Channels 10 and 11. You will also be able to stream the broadcasts on line at www.dctv.org. We will also air our “Stop Family Violence” for the third year on Radio One during October 2013 for “Domestic Violence Awareness Month". We invite you to support this very worthy cause by inviting others who have been exposed to domestic violence to listen to our broadcast to learn their legal rights and where to go for help.

CLR Community Empowerment, Inc. Awarded Grant by District of Columbia

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services/Family Violence Prevention Services Grant and the D.C. Department of Human Services/Family Services Administration awarded a grant to CLR Community Empowerment, Inc. to increase public awareness about the impact of domestic violence on families, individuals, and children in the District of Columbia. Through weekly radio programming and through our workshops, residents will be informed of their legal rights as well as organizations and resources that are available to assist the victims of domestic violence.  Through our radio campaign, we expect to reach thousands of District residents who will be invited to call in with questions regarding domestic violence.  We will direct them to 24 hour telephone advocacy resources and other community organizations that provide a host of information, resources and advocacy in the Washington Metropolitan Area.  Our radio guest and facilitators will discuss the prevalence of domestic violence, warning signs, the impact of domestic violence on children, and how and where victims may go for help.  For more information on how you can participate in our programs, please call (202) 548-0585.
